AAS 100 - Introduction to Asian American Studies Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week This course explores the diverse histories and contemporary social, cultural, and political experiences of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States. The course covers a brief history and selected issues of Americans of East Asian (e.g., Chinese, Japanese, Korean), Southeast Asian (e.g., Filipino, Vietnamese, Hmong, Mien), South Asian (e.g., Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi), and Pacific Islander (e.g., Hawaiian, Samoan, Tongan) ancestry.
