BIOL 333 - Emerging Public Health Issues Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Discussion of emerging infectious diseases and other health-related issues with global concerns such as AIDS, tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases, cardiovascular diseases, animal and bird diseases which may be transmitted to people, food and blood safety issues, environmental public health hazards, immigration, and weapons and their impact on human and animal populations in the world and the ecosystem.
