The MA in Psychology at California State University Channel Islands offers a research-focused program designed for students interested in pursuing research-based or applied careers in psychology, or preparation for doctoral programs. Students gain in-depth knowledge of psychological theories, research methods, and quantitative data analysis, equipping them to address real-world problems. The program offers two culminating experience options: a thesis or an applied research project in collaboration with a community partner. Students also engage in meaningful research opportunities and field experiences that foster professional skills and community connections. Most courses are held in-person, and the program is designed for completion in two years. Graduates are prepared for careers in research, program evaluation, statistical consulting, and further doctoral study. More information is available on the program website.
