Health Science: Healthcare Administration Masters, MHA

The Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA) with Graduate Certificate in Gerontology is designed for healthcare professionals looking to advance into management or those with management backgrounds looking to transition into healthcare. The curriculum prepares students for a full range of healthcare management, business and policy roles, including planning, marketing, consulting, quality improvement, strategic planning and operations, with a particular focus on the needs of the aging population.

Admission Requirements

Students who meet the university’s general graduate admissions requirements and who have demonstrated interest in healthcare administration will be accepted into the program. Interest may be demonstrated through a variety of ways such as a personal statement, a work sample portfolio, an interview with the program admissions committee, letters of recommendation, or some combination of the above. This approach to admissions is expected to maximize student diversity. Students must complete a Bachelor’s degree prior to starting the program.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) will not be required for admission. There is no prerequisite coursework. Students without significant professional experience in healthcare will be required to enroll in MHA 512 - Internship in Healthcare Administration (3 credits), completing a minimum of 120 hours.
