Year 1 - 30 units

SPAN 301 - Advanced Spanish Grammar and Composition I Units: 3
Satisfies UDGE-3 and Language Requirement. For Transfer students: assumes 300-level readiness, this is for students with advanced knowledge of Spanish who have completed lower-division Spanish requirements via transfer credit (or AP/CLEP Exams).
SPAN 310 - Introduction to Prose, Poetry, and Drama Units: 3
SPAN 410 - Civilizations and Cultures of Spain Units: 3
POLS 150 - American Political Institutions Units: 3
If POLS150 has been met change to Free Elective.
Complete one from the following:
select one course (ENGL 330 or CHS 331)
CHS 331 - Interdisciplinary Writing in Chicana/o Studies Units: 3
ENGL 330 - Interdisciplinary Writing Units: 3
Recommendations/Notes
- This two-year roadmap assumes that all GE’s and Lower Division Major Requirements have been completed.
- Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising Center
- Attend Major Fair (First Week of October)
- Join at least one student organization (e.g., El Club de Español).
- Meet with Spanish Faculty Advisor to discuss career options and curricular plans.
