Roadmap Transfer - 2 year: Chicana/o Studies, B.A.

To be in compliance with new GE pattern. 

We propose 3 additional units of Upper Division Electives under new section titled “Ethnic Studies” to provide students with an opportunity to enroll in a Black Studies, Asian Amerian Studies and Native American and Indigenous Studies course.  

Year 1 - 30 units


Fall Junior - 15 units

  • Meets major and GWAR requirement with C- or better

  • Student’s Choice of Art and Culture Course. Units: 3 See catalog for list of courses and descriptions. Some classes listed in Art & Culture area can meet UDGE-3
  • Student’s Choice of Major History and Society Course. Units: 3 (HIST 350 meets the US History graduation requirement and CHS 402 meets Upper-Division Subject Area 4 • Social and Behavioral Sciences) CHS 350 is offered every semester. CHS 402 is offered in Spring only. See catalog for list of courses and descriptions.
  • Student’s Choice of Free Elective Course. Units: 3 Needed for 120 Unit Requirement - Can be any class, any major, any level 100-499 that you have not earned previous credit for.

    Recommendations/Notes

    • This two-year roadmap assumes that all GE’s and Lower Division Major Requirements have been completed.

    • Meet with CHS faculty advisor if declaring a Double Major with Spanish & Chicana/o Studies
