Option in Multicultural Literatures and Social Change - 12 units

The Multicultural Literatures and Social Change Option provides English majors the opportunity to explore the literatures of various cultures and ethnic groups while examining the critical frameworks that address social inequity, oppression, and movements for social change. Students will study literature broadly defined to include fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, and film, while also engaging with language studies and writing practices that intersect with questions of community and justice.

• CComplete 12 units from the following: 
  A course taken as a requirement for the major cannot be double-counted as a course for the Multicultural Literatures and Social Change Option.
