Multicultural Perspectives Mission Pillar courses explore the interrelatedness and intersection of race and ethnicity with class, gender and sexuality, and other forms of difference, hierarchy, and oppression. They also engage social justice, indigeneity, transnational, transborder, and global issues, appreciating identities and situations as diasporic communities, and as interrelated realities in American society. To graduate, students must complete one General Education (GE) course designated as a Multicultural Perspectives (MP) Mission Pillar. It’s recommended that transfer students complete one Upper Division General Education (UDGE) course designated as having a Multicultural Perspectives (MP) Mission Pillar (provided multicultural requirement has not been previously met).
