ACCT 430 - Advanced Accounting Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): ACCT 310 and Junior or Senior standing This course presents and analyzes the principles, methods, procedures, and applications essential for advanced financial reporting and specialized accounting topics. Key areas of focus include business combinations, intercompany transactions, segment and interim financial reporting, foreign currency transactions, translation and remeasurement of foreign currency financial statements, hedging activities, derivatives, and fund accounting for governmental entities. Emphasis is placed on the application of both U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards, with an integration of analytical skills and ethical considerations throughout. Graded: Letter Grade
