DATA 261 - Mathematics for Data Science 2 Units: 4 Units Four hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): DATA 260 or MATH 140 or MATH 150 Apply linear algebra concepts to varying different data structures. Additionally, students will learn how to program these concepts with modern statistical software. Topics include vectors, dot product, distance, projection, matrix algebra, solving linear systems of equations, linear independence, orthogonality, matrix factorization.
