EDD 712 - Applied Qualitative Research Methods Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Admission to Educational Leadership for Equity and Justice, Ed.D. Program Students will learn the characteristics of various qualitative research traditions, including case study, phenomenology, narrative inquiry, ethnography, grounded theory, and participatory action research. Students will explore major paradigms that inform many qualitative research traditions and their implications for the conduct of qualitative inquiry, specifically addressing the various approaches and assumptions about reality, knowledge, and values. Students will also gain an introductory understanding of theoretical frameworks and their use in research, and examine issues of positionality, reflexivity, and reciprocity. Graded: Letter Grade
