HLTH 302 - Health Care Informatics

Recommended: HLTH 100  and HLTH 101 
This course introduces health care informatics and its role in healthcare delivery, focusing on health information systems, electronic health records (EHRs), clinical decision support and other EHR tools, and health data management. Students will explore ethical and regulatory considerations, including HIPAA and the HITECH Act, as well as emerging trends in fields like telehealth, consumer health informatics, and public health informatics. Emphasis is placed on how informatics supports healthcare decision-making, patient care, and public health.
