CHS 402 - Southern California Chicana/o History and Culture (Cross-listed as HIST 402) Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (1A, 1B, 1C, 2) Examines the cultural, economic, political, and social experience of Mexican Americans in southern California region from the U.S conquest to the Civil Rights Era. It considers the racialization of Mexican Americans and other subordinated racial and ehtnic groups in relation to one another.
