MUS 263 - Music Theory and Analysis II

Units: 3
Three hours lecture per week
Prerequisite(s):  MUS 162  and MUS 163 , both with grade of C- or better
Corequisite(s): MUS 264  
Recommended: MUS 162  and MUS 163 , both with grade of B or better within the past two semesters
Expands upon the contrapuntal voice leading and harmonization techniques from the prerequisite courses. Topics include voice leading, diatonic harmony, introduction to chromatic harmony, intermediate music analysis, and composition.
