SOC 325 - Statistical Applications in the Social Sciences

Prerequisite(s): MATH 200  or MATH 201  or MATH 202 /PSY 202 , and SOC 321  
An introduction to the use of statistical techniques in the social sciences. The basic principles and techniques for describing and analyzing quantitative social science data will be covered, as well as the basic use of statistical software to conduct data analyses. The goal of this course is to provide students with the skills needed to comprehend the basics of statistical applications in sociology, and synthesize social statistics within the theoretical and substantive aspects of the sociology major. Formerly SOC 303/PSY 303, effective Fall 2021.
