MATH 331 - History of Mathematics Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Study of breakthrough mathematical ideas and their creators, including historical and scientific context. Important concepts of current mathematics are studied: inception, development, difficulties, significance, and various viewpoints will be presented.
