Four Year Academic Roadmap

Welcome to Anthropology at CI! Started in 2012, our program offers a broad holistic perspective on humans as social, cultural, and biological beings. Our curriculum crosscuts different subfields of anthropology - sociocultural, linguistic, archaeological, and biological - to address major themes that are relevant to understanding people today.

Year 1 - 31 units

Fall Freshman - 15 units

ANTH 105 - Introduction to Archaeology Units: 3
GE A2 - Student’s Choice of A2: Written Communication course - 3 units Units: 3
Please check English Milestone via your Student Center to verify if you need an additional support course.
GE A3 - Student’s Choice of A3: Critical Thinking course - 3 units Units: 3
GE F - Student’s Choice of F: Ethnics Studies course - 3 units Units: 3
GE C2 - Student’s Choice of C2 Humanities: Languages Other than English course - 3 units Units: 3
Units may vary between 3-4 units depending on language chosen. Also, double-counts with GE:C2.

Consider taking ANTH 323, 327, 332, 442, 443, 444, 446 to meet the UDGE-D requirement and major elective. 15 units of Anthropology Major Electives are required. Any upper division ANTH courses that has not already been used for the major.

UDGE B - Student’s Choice of UDGE-B: Scientific Inquiry and Quantitative Reasoning course - 3 units Units: 3
Strongly suggested to take ANTH 345 to meet the UDGE-B requirement and major elective (if choosing a different course other than ANTH 345 for UDGE-B you will need to take an additional elective). 15 units of Anthropology Major Electives are required - any upper division ANTH courses that has not already been used for the major.
If UDGE-B has been met, choose an Anthropology elective of your choice.
