Program Pre-Requisites

  • Prior completion of 60 semester/90 quarter transferable units
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • C- or better grades required in Golden Four courses (GE Area A1, A2,A3, & B4) courses
  • Good standing at the last institution attended

CSUCI Psychology Program Admission Requirements

  • Introduction to Psychology (C or better grade required)
  • Statistics ​(C or better grade required)
  • Developmental Psychology*​* (C or better grade required)

* To meet General Education  and Graduation Requirements , students must complete GE Areas A-F, The CSU American Institutions Requirement and the CSUCI’s Language Requirement, which are not offered as part of this degree completion program.

** Students may be eligible for provisional admission, which would require the completion of this class at another institution during your first semester while concurrently enrolled in CSUCI’s Psychology, B.A. ​

Lower Division Major Requirements - 9 units


Special Grade Requirement:

All courses must be completed with a C or better to apply toward the Psychology major.

Note: Students may substitute equivalent courses taken at other universities in each area by articulation agreement or by permission of the Psychology program.

Upper Division Requirements - 28 units


Special Grade Requirement:

All courses must be completed with a C or better to apply toward the Psychology major.

Note: Psychology majors normally take these courses at CI, however, students may substitute equivalent courses taken at other universities in each area by articulation agreement or by permission of the Psychology program.

Upper Division Psychology Elective Requirements - 12-13 units

All courses must be completed with a C or better (or CR) to apply toward the Psychology major.
