Student must obtain a grade of C- or better in each of these courses to apply them to the Economics Major.

• ECON 110 - Principles of Microeconomics Units: 3
• ECON 111 - Principles Of Macroeconomics Units: 3

• MATH 140 - Calculus for Business Applications Units: 3
• MATH 150 - Calculus I Units: 4

Upper Division Major Requirements - 19 units

Student must obtain a grade of C- or better in each of these courses to apply them to the Economics Major.

• ECON 310 - Intermediate Microeconomics Units: 3
• ECON 311 - Intermediate Macroeconomics Units: 3
• ECON 488 - Econometrics Units: 4
• ECON 496 - Seminar in Economic Analysis Units: 3
• ECON 499 - Capstone Units: 3

• Complete one from the following:

• MATH 329 - Applied Statistics for Business and Economics Units: 3
• MATH 352 - Probability and Statistics Units: 3

Upper Division Major Elective Requirements - 12-14 units

Students must obtain a grade of C- or better in each of these courses to apply them to the Economics Major.

Complete a minimum of four upper division courses as follows:

Note: ECON 497   must be taken for 3 units in order to be applied to the major.

• A minimum of two courses must be taken from Upper Division General Education (UDGE) courses

• A minimum of two economics courses at the 400 level

Economics Options

In lieu of the Upper Division Major Electives above, students may elect to complete one of the following Options:

• Economics, B.A. International Economics Option - 120 units  
• Economics, B.A. Managerial Economics Option - 120 units  

General Education and Graduation Requirements - B.A.

To graduate, students must complete 120 units minimum (21 units must be upper division), including the following General Education Requirements  (GE) and Graduation Requirements  not met within the major:

• American Institutions Requirements     
• GE Requirements  
  • General Education Area A-F Requirements  
  • Upper Division General Education (UDGE) Requirements  (minimum of 3 units in each Area: UDGE-B , UDGE-C , and UDGE-D ) 
• Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR)   (C- or better grade)
• Language Requirement   (C- or better grade)
• Multicultural Perspectives (MP) Requirement  
• Free electives as needed to meet minimum units for graduation
