Upper Division Requirements - 27 units


Discipline Area Electives - 21 units


Twenty-one units required from a minimum of three discipline areas. Students must choose in which discipline area cross-listed courses will count. For example, BUS 448  /ECON 448  /SOC 448  Globalization and Development as either a Business and Economics discipline area course, or a Social Sciences discipline area course. Students must receive permission from the program advisor to substitute 490 courses (e.g., special topics) and courses taken during Study Abroad for electives listed below. A single UNIV 392  course may substitute for one elective course, provided it is not used to satisfy the Corequisite Study Abroad Requirement below.

Corequisites - 1-19 units


1. Language Requirement – Students need to complete a language other than English through the intermediate level (for example, through SPAN 202 ), or demonstrate equivalent proficiency as approved by the CI Global Languages & Cultures faculty. ASL courses will not be accepted.

2. Study Abroad Requirement - Students must successfully complete a minimum of one international study abroad experience (e.g., a CSU International Program, or a study abroad program approved by a Global Studies major advisor). UNIV 392 (3 units only) may be possible in specific circumstances when the longer programs cause a hardship for students; prior approval from the Global Studies major advisor is required.

General Education and Graduation Requirements - B.A.


To graduate, students must complete a minimum of 120 units (21 units must be upper division), including the following General Education Requirements  (GE) and Graduation Requirements  not met within the major:
