ANTH 327 - Oral History and the Community Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): ANTH 102 and Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Outlines and develops the use of oral history as a research method from the 19th century to the present using examples drawn from anthropology, folklore and history. Explores different styles of interview techniques, including directed and open-ended interviews, questionnaires, and equipment with emphasis on broad, community-based research designs.
