Introduces foundational theories currently influencing literary, social studies, and cultural analysis and criticism. Specific schools of theoretical inquiry include structuralist, materialist, psychoanalytic, deconstructive, feminist, gender, queer, postcolonial, critical race, reader response, and cultural studies.
