Subject: Senate Recommended Additions to the University’s Academic Master Plan

At the its meeting on November 28, 2023, the Academic Senate gave a second reading to a motion from its Academic Policy and Planning Committee (APPC) to add a list of proposed academic master degree programs (along with projected implementation year) to the University’s Academic Master Plan (AMP) for approval by the CSU Board of Trustees at its March meeting.

The APPC arrived at its list of recommended programs after a thoughtful and detailed review of many proposal. The development and review of all proposals followed existing Senate policy for curriculum development, e.g. the Senate Policy on Academic Planning Process (SP 18-06).

The Academic Senate deliberated on the APPC motion and voted to approve it. As a result, the Senate has approved the following programs to be recommedned for addition to the University’s

AMP:
MS in Social Work in Fall 2027
Masters of Professional Accountancy in Fall 2026
