Drafted By: Student Academic Policies and Procedures (SAPP) Committee 2005-2006 (membership: Beatrice de Oca and Virgil Adams -co-chairs; Amy Denton, Simone Aloisio, Jesse Elliot, and Damon Blue) Purpose: To establish policy on the use of upper division undergraduate courses to meet graduate degree requirements
Background: Title 5 requirement: (B) Not less than one-half of the units required for the degree shall be in courses organized primarily for graduate students.
Applicability: All CSUCI graduate degree students
Policy: At least 70% of the total units used to meet graduate degree requirements must be in graduate level (500 & 600 level) courses. If an upper-division course is taken by a grad student to fulfill the unit requirements of a Masters program, supplemental, graduate-level work must be completed.
