Drafted By: Student Academic Policies and Procedures (SAPP) Committee 2005-2006 (membership: Beatrice de Oca and Virgil Adams -co-chairs; Amy Denton, Simone Aloisio, Jesse Elliot, and Damon Blue) Purpose: To establish policy on the minimum number of units in residence required for a master’s degree.
Background: Title 5 requirement: (A) Not less than 21 semester units (32 quarter units) shall be completed in residence. The appropriate campus authority may authorize the substitution of credit earned by alternate means for a part of this residence requirement.
Applicability: All CSUCI master’s degree students
Policy: A minimum of 21 semester units must be taken in residence after admission to the graduate program offering the degree. The program may authorize the substitution of credit earned by alternate means for a part of this residence requirement.
