To be considered for category C3b in General Education, a course must meet the following criteria:
	- The course must address issues, “ways of knowing” and perspectives from at least two cultures.

	- The course must be more than a “cultural tourism” course. In other words, simply looking at a culture from the outside is not sufficient. Students must become involved with the cultures of the course in an in-depth way. Approaches may vary.

1For the purposes of this document, “culture” is broadly defined to include aspects of ethnicity, class, gender, ability/disability and community.
