ART 436 - Modern Art (1850-1970): Looking, Thinking, Writing Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) From Impressionism in the nineteenth century, through Cubism, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art in the twentieth, this course explores concepts, periods, trends, and “-isms” of the modern era (1850 - 1970).
