ART 435 - Postmodern Visual Culture Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): ART 101 or ART 111 and Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) An examination of the major visual components of postmodern culture. This course will explore a wide range of issues related to the multicultural identity of contemporary culture. Developments in the 20th and early 21st centuries such as film, digital media, and critical theory, as well as traditional visual forms of expression such as painting and sculptures, will be discussed.
