MATH 331 - History of Mathematics Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: Junior Standing or Consent of Instructor Study of breakthrough mathematical ideas and their creators, including historical and scientific context. Important concepts of current mathematics are studied: inception, development, difficulties, significance, and various viewpoints will be presented.
