COMM 211 - Discerning Information in an Interconnected World (Cross-listed as LIB 211) Units: 3 Three hours lecture per week Provide students with strategies to help them make sense of our information-saturated world. Students should critically assess information, differentiate the perspectives of information seekers from providers and evaluate our sources of knowledge through issues such as surveillance, surrogates, privacy, information seeking behavior, information control, intellectual property, digital democracy, and emerging information communication technologies.
