    • Two year plan assumes Lower Division (LD) Major courses have been completed. If any LD courses remain incomplete, take these courses as soon as possible -
    • As a Junior, it is recommended that you meet with your Global Studies director/advisor at least once a year
    • Prepare a resume
    • Meet w/ Graduate Studies Center
    • Meet w/ Career Development Services
    • Join a student organization, such as the International Relations Club
    • Meet with Academic Advising for a degree progress check
    • Review faculty biographies and publications; connect with at least one faculty member working in area of interest
    • Visit Study Abroad website to read about opportunities; consider deadlines and apply for Study Abroad depending on your plan
    • Attend at least one research presentation on campus (or off)
    • Make appointment to meet with Global Studies director to discuss research interests
    • Create or update LinkedIn Profile; be certain to connect with faculty and other professionals working in areas of interest
    • Explore Peace Corps Prep Program
    • Meet with Global Studies director to discuss Model United Nations research opportunities
    • Attend Grad School Fair
    • Consider applying for a research internship in international affairs (virtual)
    • Attend one or more International Education Week events (third week in November)

    • Join a disciplinary association such as the International Studies Association, International Studies Association-West, or other organization recommended by a faculty member working in an area of interest.
    • Meet with the Career development Services and the Graduate Studies personnel to discuss long term plans
    • Review the International Career Guide and links of interest
    • Register and create a profile with CalJobs (www.caljobs.ca.gov) and USAJOBS (www.usajobs.gov)
    • Investigate and consider participating in campus undergraduate research programs such as Summer SURF and Model United Nations (if not already participating)
    • Consider enrolling in elective research credits (POLS 494) during senior year. Contact faculty about parameters for participation
    • Visit Study Abroad office to discuss and apply for required Study Abroad
    • Attend Grad School Fair
    • Explore possible graduate degrees and select target programs (MA, law school, Ph.D.)
    • Consider visiting UCSB’s Global Studies department to learn about MA and Ph.D. in Global Studies
    • Attend Global Studies Capstone event
